The double compression of hay products has been in use in only the last few years and was developed primarily for export operations.
Much of the hay produced in Nevada is exported to the Pacific Rim, where it is sought after for its beautiful color and sweet flavor.
A huge hydraulic press is used to squeeze a regular bale down to half of its size, eliminating all of the air. This process is the equivalent of vacuum packing for a hay product. This double compression procedure keeps the hay fresher for longer periods and holds the leaf and robust aroma of our Sierra Nevada grown hays.
